DESCRIPTION:

Join a guided book discussion of Rupert Spira’s book, The Nature of Consciousness: Essays on the Unity of Mind and Matter, which explores nonduality in the traditions of Hindu Advaita Vedanta and Kashmir Shaivism. Spira’s teaching, Direct Path, is an accessible means of learning and honoring the fundamental reality of consciousness based in these ancient philosophies.

The purpose of these gatherings is to create a diverse group of like-minded friends who are interested in enlightenment, self-realization and nonduality teachings (Advaita Venanta, Zen Buddhism, Sufism, Taoism).

ABOUT THE FACILITATOR:

John Finnegan is a friend and long-time student of Rupert Spira’s. During the 80s, John was a senior student at the Cleveland Buddhist Temple where he studied and practiced Zen Buddhism for 10 years with Sensei Koshin Ogui. John currently lives in Cleveland Heights, OH with his wife, Anne. He loves nature, art, music, dancing, and reading.
